What Are Your Plans This Week?

I don't have a lot of plans but today going to the bank. Wednesday I am taking Izzi for her check up at the vets and the rest of the time, just will be home doing the usual things. I may look in my sewing room and see if I can make it better. I have enough room to set up several sewing machines, that is if it is straightened up and I think that would be fun to have some of my girls over to sew. We all can't be in there as one has moved to Arkansas. Do you have plans for this week?

Today I am going to the local senior center for a drawing class. This afternoon I have a meeting to review the New Years Eve party and discuss what we might want to change for next year. Thursday I will be traveling to Pa for my brother in law's funeral. He passed away this past week. I will be staying for a few days to be with my sister.

Today going back down to the coast to buy some square hay bales and take food to the feral cats, and check the boat.

If the weather stays nice this week, need to do a little waterlily work and some outside work done. We need some fences built, and thankfully going to hire that done.

    satine....I'm sorry for you loss....

    --------------------------------------------------------------

The tires are too big for the truck we purchased, new. They clip the fenders. Have an open claim with GM to trade out the tires. Lots of phone calls over THAT in the next week. GMC gave us 20K points = $100 credit to shop with. The item we chose, a truck bed mat, is only available in the next town over. To avoid shipping costs, I need to go pick it up.

A renters 2 dogs chewed up my deck. We need to rebuild a section of it inbetween snow storms, sand and stain the whole thing. This is going to be difficult, since the 2 renters are no longer speaking to one another & are moving out, separately. There is only a walking path through ALL the "stuff", she's a hoarder...of stuff. New packages arrive every day. They spend ALL their time on the bed, since there's no where else they can sit. So.....the house has no wear and tear on it. There is a good side to this. lol

I have 2 bucket seat covers ready to "finish".

Need to make a dinner dish with chicken thighs....?

Friday the home owners association has a meeting to decide how to handle mail theft & lodge break-ins. Neighborhood watch is my 1st pick.

    Sorry for your loss, Satine.

Wow, nicole, that renter situation sounds interesting to say the least!

Today, I'm getting together with a dear friend who is moving to another state. I'm really going to miss her.

Tomorrow, I have a dental appt to pick up enough teeth straightening trays to get me through our upcoming vacation.

On Wednesday, we leave. San Diego, here we come! We've rented a sweet little condo on the beach. I'm very much looking forward to walking the beach during the early morning hours. We're driving down and will spend a night at Morro Bay on the way to SD.

Somewhere in all of that, I still have to finish packing and cleaning the house. I know I've packed too much and am going to cull some of it before we go. The beauty of traveling in a car vs flying is that we have room to take more stuff; the downside of traveling in a car vs flying is that we have room to take more stuff. ;-)

Returning to work after 3 weeks off. Its going to be a very different new year, because they are going to be extensively remodeling the building I have been working in -- for the next three years. Most everyone moved out of the building in late December.

For the group I work in, they've set up a new temporary office space in a different building, 10 miles north of campus. I'm going there for the first time today, for a meeting, but neither I nor any of the rest of my group plan to go to the new space regularly, if at all.

So I have been trying to get a space set up in my home to use as a work space, and hoping that the not-so-good DSL internet connection is sufficient. So far, surprisingly, it seems like it may be viable.

Today I am taking down Christmas stuff and packing away. Cleaning gal comes tomorrow so I want to get the messy stuff done before she gets here. Tonight I have Mexican Train. Tomorrow night, dinner with some friends before playing bridge. I think Wed. is a free day because I decided to pass on Ladies Night Out. YAY! Dr. appointment Thursday morning, Thursday afternoon DD and SIL are coming over to carry some of the larger things upstairs. I usually do that but still working on strengthening the leg after the knee operation. Friday I'm playing bridge. That's pretty much for my week.

I plan on not planning much :-) I seem to be easily distracted from a lot of mundane chores, so while they are on my to-do list, it's pretty much hit or miss if they get crossed off. If I don't get around to them this week, they will be the start of next week's to-do list!

I managed to get most of my pressing outside chores done on Saturday as it was bright and sunny. Now raining and is forecasted to continue throughout the week. perhaps even changing to snow (yikes!!) at the start of next week.

I do have a couple of must do's......visit the library to pick up a hold I had ordered and drive my sister to the ferry Thursday morning en route to the airport for a trip out of town. Some dear friends who moved to Palm Springs early last year will be in town this weekend on business and a short visit and we have planned a dinner out together Friday night. Other than that, I am staying put! And staying dry!

If I feel ambitious, my office needs some work....year-end clean up and filing mostly. And a couple of in-process business projects that could use some additional work.

I also have an antique ornately framed mirror than needs repair. The frame is big, made from plaster, not wood, and must be 150 years old. It has broken in several places but I have all the parts and some good glue so that could be a good rainy day project :-) But I have been saying that for about a year already :-)

I guess I could say I plan on continuing my procrastinating habits......I will probably succeed very well going with that plan!!

Last Friday was my first day back to work with an in-service. Today was a regular day back and I actually was able to get caught up on some odds and ends in our office. I've been trying to get my mom in for an Alzheimer/dementia test and finally gave up on them calling me and I called them. Now my mom has to have an evaluation before the testing. When I called to tell her this, she did not seem too happy. My dh got an email that his work is accepting voluntary lay-offs since Boeing stopped production of the 737 Max, this week will tell what will happen with his job. Heading to the gym in about an hour for two classes (Group Power and Group Cynergy. The rest of the week will be work and gym....not much else.

To upgrade my computer from Windows 7 Professional to Windows 10. I do not consider this an improvement, but must do it since Norton has warned me that support for Win 7 quits at about the 14th of January and Norton may not be able to protect against new threats on Win 7.

Making a list of things to get done for the week:

    -Hoping to get chandeliers cleaned

-Took measurements for kitchen windows for new curtains to be put up

    • Ordered new spice jars in order to redo spice cabinets.

    • Arranged to have new lace curtains put up in living room.

These are extra things on top of regular housework routine.

Husband has been sick with a bad cold and I have been hoping and praying I wouldn't get it. Unfortunately I now have it too. I feel like I have been run over by a truck.

Hopefully it won't last long. So I doubt we will be going out much.

    Satine my deepest sympathy.

I am on vacation from work this week and had all sorts of lovely plans to get things done. However I hurt my back pretty badly gardening this past Saturday. I carried 75 heavy border stones for my rose garden around my house and up a hill,2 at a time, dug the trenches to put them in, put them in, and refilled the dirt. I also planted 100 bulbs, gladiolus and lilies which meant lugging 4 huge bags of dirt back there too as I have nothing but red clay dirt, which has to be replaced if I want anything to grow in it. While i was scooting around placing the border stones, I fell butt first into one of the giant holes I dug earlier for some rose bushes I ordered. I was stuck for a few minutes but managed to weasel myself out, only to do it again in a different, yet thankfully shallower hole. I also rolled out that weed prevention fabric,to be covered with soon to be acquired mulch. I felt just fine, save some ant bites and a couple scrapes until the next day. So anyway, now I will be doing a whole lotta nothing this week. It's a shame, i still need new glasses, Muffin needs to go to the vet for her yearly checkup and shots, and it goes on.....Oh well, I hurt too much to do anything beyond my daily steps on the treadmill, which oddly enough seem to help. The random spasms are my favorite. They make me feel alive...NOT. I did go to the doctor yesterday. That is odd for me. Usually I just suck it up but the pain is pretty bad. They offered me the same muscle relaxers and pain meds that i got for my shoulder a few months ago. I still have most of those left,so I declined a prescription for more. They don't help me at all. Or didn't with my shoulder. I wanted a course of steroids,as they helped heal my shoulder, but they didnt offer those. Guess I am on my own. I hope I am at least able to move comfortably by Friday, I have lots of things to accomplish for valentine's day!

Breathing easier! I'm passing off one of my newly acquired "jobs" (was added late last year) to the newly hired person (after their training and added tools (like a credit card for which one must be trained. It's not a carte blanche kind of thing, etc.). It'll be nice to know it's in good hands. ( I am point person for a leader in my organization, but they recently acquired two new duties (I thought they were retiring?!), a new office, making three offices (all in different buildings), and four assistants now. Three different divisions and a billion things to do. I'm the hub, but I'd sure love to go back to be being a spoke again. With the same pay, of course ;) )

My skin is healed from the chemo cream. Ah, it looks nicer. Younger. Over the hump. I'm ready to dig through my closet and find something to show off my new skin. My sprouts have enough true leaves to be potted up. At least six or eight of each kind with almost 70 varieties... makes a lot of potting up. I'm trying to fatten up kidney failure kitty. She was doing pretty well, hanging in there, and got something that set her back, but now we're back to a good appetite. And of course, playing with my boy. He's set me up on Discord, ordered bluetooth headphones with built in mic, so I can watch him screw up, I mean play, his video games. We chat and laugh all the while. It's a weird generation, but I'll adapt. If I want to be with my son. Last, I'm back to losing weight. I've been gaining the past year, but I stopped that, and went back to losing. That gets me to this weekend, I think.
