Greenliving, depending on the window you choose, more than likely the glass will come LowE coated and not clear.

Depending on the LowE option you choose, you can get glass that looks tinted, but technically isn't, and LowE coatings have much better energy performance numbers than tinted glass.

Oberon I dont care for the look at all of the low e greenish tint. I am in Florida and we still have the choice to not have the low e I heard some places dont have the choice. I am just wondering if the gray glass on hurricane windows restricts the light from coming in good because of it being double pane that is why I was considering clear. My sister has gray but they are non impact and they look really good and let the light in but wondering if maybe that is different with hurricane glass since its going to be a thicker glass. thanks

Assuming you are considering Marvin windows based on your grid question pictures, look into Cardinal's LoE-240, it is darker and doesn't have a green tint.

WinOnWash-- the sample they give you is about 3"X 3". I can't even pick tint on glasses with one eye like that.

GreenLiving--The only way is to make friends with your neighbors and go in their house to see if you like the color. What tint did you end up going with?

You can tape it up to your current window with clear tape along the edges and see how it looks.
