Perhaps there is some interest in more...so here is thread #3.

Here are photos of what happens to trunks/stems if left to grow. This small leaved jade - Crassula ovata 'Crosby's compact' was beheaded in August 2019. Beheaded trunks/stems were left in original pot, and are growing lots of leaves now:




This may not work with all succulents, but works with many.

I left 2 knocked-off leaves in the pot, and they are growing into new plants too:
