You know, Comtesse, reading some things here and there, I gather that England's climate is warming, some. Maybe not EVERYWHERE, but I am under the impression that you COULD grow some of the Teas there, now.

Of course, it would depend upon WHERE in England you settled. :-)

The TV presentations were shown in the UK -- not, AFAIK, here in the U.S. But clearly, Cornwall's climate always has allowed for some interesting gardening.

Even in London, though, Roger Phillips has written about widening choices in gardening.

Absolutely! Roger is a prince and outrageously FUNNY! He gave the talk at a banquet at a Huntington Old Rose Symposium where he spoke about when he received the call from the BBC to make The Quest For the Rose and what happened upon his return. It involved a change in editors to a young person who had no interest in history nor gardening; lunch with Prince Andrew at the Royal Hunting Lodge and "frolicking in the woods" collecting mushrooms for lunch with Prince Andrew, "The Queen Mum" and her hand maiden. It was VERY difficult to eat while listening to that! LOL!

He also co-wrote, with Leslie Land, an interesting book called
"THE 3,000 MILE GARDEN: An Exchange of Letters on Gardening, Food, and The Good LIfe"
which is a terrific read.
