Kim,... I got about 8 seeds per hip... when I put these 16 seeds in a cup of water 10 sunk to the bottom and 6 floated on the surface.... somebody told me if they float they are not viable... I don't know how true that is but thought to mention it..

Thank you! I don't abide by the "floater" routine. I simply plant anything which appears to have an embryo in it and what comes up, comes up. I appreciate your describing how it's performed for you and showing what you've obtained from the hips. I will keep this one on the list. Five feet is a bit large for where I have to put it.

Kim after seeing it in England 2018 and talking to one of DA's staff, I think you will find it will get bigger in your climate. I would take it just for it's beauty, but from the staff member "thinks it won't make Australia"

Nice to know it has nice hips. I've been planting more stuff for wildlife. Something "planted" 2 roses (from hips, I presume) last winter. I have 2 seedlings where there are no roses. The only thing with hips was Tess of the d'Urbervilles.

I will be ordering TbG also due to the nice open flowers. I think bees & butterflies will like it.
