I would just take down the curtain and call it a day if you plan on keeping all the stuff as in the photo.

It's a garage. And the curtains aren't working because...you can't see the curtains for all the crap piled in front of them! Seriously. What's the point of the curtains with all the rest of that dusty old garbage? The curtains aren't the problem.

You can install sliding panels such as shoji screens.

An inexpensive way to organize things is to purchase clear plastic bins sized to fit in the shelves, and then store your stuff in there with labels. Then lose the curtains, because imho, they aren't making the space look less cluttered.

If the curtain is just to keep dust out and it’s working, it’s a garage so who cares?

Take some pics without the curtain that just does not work. I need to see the whole space and you need to do some purging. If you haven’t used it in 2 yrs it goes to goodwill or the garbage . I use bins for all my storage like Christmas stuff then that stuff does not get dusty. I don’t store books in a garage but they can also go in bins . Even though it is a garage it needs to be organized so you can actually get to stuff .You could have an actual garage sale.

Yeah, but...Your shade needs to be about 3 feet longer. If we can still see buckets and batteries and hoses and junk, hiding the stuff above is pointless. Just sayin'.

I agree with the above poster that said clean out and organize, and then put everything you want to keep in bins, clear or not. Organization is what makes things look good in a garage, not curtains.

It’s not the curtains themselves that is the problem. I think it’s the way they are hung - is that a wire strung across there? As you can see, it’s not a good thing. A real rod would be much better.

Plus, of course, there’s way too much stuff in there. Is this a permanent storage situation?
