Are you quilting this weekend? Jan. 18-19

Hello from rainy Columbus! At least we are not getting snow and it has warmed up enough for it not to turn to ice. I plan to stay inside and work on the mystery quilt. I made one block yesterday after the reveal but that was all I had time to make. My 3 yo granddaughter was here all day and then I picked up the 6 yo after school. Their parents came over after work for dinner and a movie on TV. By the time everyone left, I was too tired to sew.

I am liking the mystery quilt results. I am proud to say that I did not have to buy any fabric to make this quilt. Most of the fabric came from my scraps and the rest from my stash. I did use all of my raspberry color and was worried I would need to buy more..but I had enough!

Here is the block I made.

That is a lovely block with your fabrics.

I hope to finish up the BOM quilt today or tomorrow.

We did get snow overnight and right now it is raining. I just pray it doesn't become icy rain. Maybe your warm temps will flow north and keep it as rain. We have been lucky so far this winter escaping any significant snowfall but this one does require shovelling.

    Off to the sewing machine.

Hope y'all didn't get the nasty road stuff last night. DD decided to go with a friend to Chicago for the week-end. I told her she was nuts! I want to get a few blocks of The Frolic Mystery made this week-end to see how it's going to look with my fabric. I used the colors Bonnie did but aimed at half the units. They're still not all done. My only constant is the green and sadly lacking in teal/aqua.

Very pretty, Linda! I really like the colors, and you have a great sense of light vs. dark. I often don’t have enough contrast.

I am working on a PP wall hanging kit of bird of paradise flowers. I have a 4 day weekend so I thought it would give me a good start on it. We were moved into our new office yesterday so they told us not to come to work, and I have MLK day off. I need to really enjoy it because it’s a long time till Memorial Day! LOL

I made three wheelchair bags, but no quilting so far. I would love to get a UFO sandwiched tomorrow. We'll see.

That is a beautiful block, Linda. I look forward to see it finished. I think that many small pieces would drive me crazy.

I learned something from you, Linda. I always referred to my scraps as my stash. It looks like stash refers to bigger pieces and scraps are smaller. So I don't have a stash. LOL

That's a beautiful block. Which mystery quilt is it?

I've been sewing quite a bit. Almost finished hand sewing the binding on a baby quilt.

I made a backing for a UFO, so at least that was something.

I finished a top this past weekend, now to decide on a backing. I've moved away from the scrap string quilts for awhile. This one is the Jewel Box block only instead of using all different colors for the jewels I've used only one fabric for them all - this fabric I've had for awhile and it's a swirling blue, green and purple thing. The background is white.
