What "colorful" activity do you have planned for today? Cooking a special meal, wearing colorful clothing, working in the garden, adding a touch of color to a room in your home?

    Kimdee baby you alright.
Etzia, it really was wasn't it? She is in grad school and I have been doing much of the move for her as she is gone all day til 9:30 pm, but I am so proud of her. She is very grown up for her 23 years!
Aw, kimdee, that's not right. Try and put it out of your mind. If she does this to you all the time, the problem is all hers and not anything you should even pay attention to, hard as it is to ignore.
Yeah, I'm okay. She just called complaining it had been NINE days since I called her (which isn't true, we talked on Thursday) and how I never come out to see her and I said I would plant her tree and I haven't yet and... basically just made me feel like the worst child ever born. Shaking it off...
    Sorry kimdee!! That's no fun...!!!!!
Hey handy, I'm glad she's rewarded you for all that hard work, she's a good girl and you really deserve it :)
    What's new, kid?
    But it's sunny out :)
Nothing much really. Gotta replace a broken window on the garage door. Got the glass, now I am just stalling on here as usual! What about you? All the workers have left the Inn?
Nope, still here. I'll post some before and afters. Here's some pretty flower pics and the crocosmia, wish the hummingbirds were here for this pic, must have known I was coming :)

The sun is so bright it's washing out some of the color from crocosmia, it's like a firecracker, so bright and cheery :)
Wow, you and I obviously like the same colors for flowers, lol! Gorgeous!
Aren't they happy??!!!! Love them. :D
Beautiful flowers, Michele! I love pinks, I have red/pinks on the back deck. And I did purple and white in the front this year.

Are you home yet robin? Are you getting to enjoy the sun at all? :)
Nope. Still at work. Hopefully within the next few minutes I'll get to leave then I have to stop at Staples on the way home. There's one on the drive home that's closing so all stock is 20% off. School supply shopping :)
Nooooooooooooo, don't say it!! I hate back to school, sad, sad time. I'm as bad as the kids, maybe worse, I love having them with me. And it's my sons last year of high school, so I really don't want it to start. :(
  • 13 years ago
But I am glad you're leaving work in a few minutes :)

Robin, school supply shopping, enjoy it while it lasts. This is the first year in 21 years that I haven't had to do it :( Although it was a crazy expensive time of year, school fees, supplies, clothes, hockey registration, hockey equipment ALL X3 and two of the boys birthdays are in Sept to boot!!!!

Your not alone kimdee, my Mom does the same thing to me. Last time she did, I asked her if she was really calling to invite me for breakfast.....which she did. We had a nice visit, went and bought 2 rose bushes and planted them at Dads grave. A few tears later and all was good again. When she lived in Twin Brooks it was just a hop, skip and a jump. Now she's by the the Grey Nuns in a Seniors condo. Really nice place but it's just not somewhere I ever pass by, so those unexpected, drop in visits have stopped. I feel rotten but I can't be going there twice a week as she'd like. Good thing she still drives so at least we can meet for breakie :)

mforr, is your pebble tile flat? love it :) I haven't ran it by the "designer guy". He always has to see it, can't imagine a darn thing.....Arrrrg
  • 13 years ago
Yes, flat pebbles candace. The round bumpy ones are not comfy underfoot and they don't let the water drain well. The flat ones feel great and no water pools. So happy, we can finally use it in a couple days.
Wish everyone could visualize things, it would be so much easier to design things as a couple. Unless the non visualizer trusts the "visionary" it's always a wrestling match and a giant pain in the "boooooop"
Aaaaah moms, gotta love them or go crazy or both. :)
mforr, sometime I could just scream. A few years ago I told hubby "if we ever build, I'd love to have a barrel ceiling" nope, hate that idea....bah hum bug barrel, bucket, yuck, not happening. As we cruised through show homes gather ideas to take to the Architect. Hubby says" Man, I really love the ceiling in this home".... are you kidding me, guess what, it was a barrel. If he hasn't already seen it, he automatically doesn't like it. I'm the opposite, If someone I know has it, I don't want it.
I love to be the different one too, like to have the only one or individual idea. That's why I do my own designing. I love it sooooo much. Better find some pics of your ideas for him or start sketching like crazy :)
hahaha I have a sketch pad in the build folder, It's already half used up. Between the Architect, Builder and Hubby I've been doing a lot of sketching.
Me too, some of them are really funny, they weren't meant to be, but they turned out that way. I saved a few and I crack up every time I take a peek .
They were really lifesavers though. Got my ideas across and I got what I wanted. So it's all good :)
mforr, what are you gonna put in the cubbies? Puddin pies?
One day down, three more to go. I am positive I'm still hearing the dinging of the computers at work. Driving me a tad batty!

Staples was looking pretty picked over when I went through, but I picked up new work pens and printer ink in addition to school supplies. Now, I need to find me a man who will have dinner on the table for me after a 12 hour shift. Something tells me he's not at Staples.
I'm thinking you need a outdoorsy guy, who loves to dig out drainage around basements and runs in tough mudders and is a gourmet chef with an extremely hot bod, what do you think Robin? Oh and handy, that's what I think I should put in the cubbies, puddin pies and the guy I just described, in multiples. Haha, that sounds like fun :)
    I'd be all over that.

My hubby often teases me that I'm old enough that he can trade me in on two 24 year olds. I said that's fine...one to cook and one to clean

I had another "interesting" day today but I lived through it. I got into another argument with my business partner this morning...he's gotten to be extremely grumpy lately. He had his nephew with him today and I asked the nephew if he thought I was really being incredibly difficult and he said I wasn't. He's seen lots of blow-ups over the years and told me that my partner was just extra short tempered today.

Lately it has been a constant battle and I think the only reason he wants to ask my opinion on anything is so he can blame me if something goes astray. I told him yesterday that he shouldn't ask for my opinion or ask me what I want if he's not prepared to hear the answer. Plus, if he picks a fight with me, it is always good for an excuse to storm away and take the rest of the day off.

Today it was a good reason for him to start drinking again. My car wouldn't start again this evening, so I drove my partner's truck and dropped him and his roommate off, went to Home Depot, then brought his truck back and caught a ride home with another guy who had stopped to pick up some cabinets we had. I was glad that it worked out so I could drive them home without worrying about how much my partner had been drinking. I always know how drunk he is by the stereo...the more he drinks, the louder the music. It it was loud tonight! Good thing the neighbors aren't too fussy.

Hi Roo if u are getting up soon!! I am gonna hit the rack soon here...draining my grotesquely green pool...to heck with it...spending more in chemicals than just re-filling the dumb thing!! Kinda let it go when we were at the lake...and it actually became a lake...in appearance...LOL
