Living Room Layout

I'm trying to help my friend figure out the best way to lay out her living room. It's about 13' x 20' and has a large fireplace (no room for TV above it) and the front door opens right into the room. See approximate layout pic. Any suggestions? Thank you!!

They have furniture but are willing to buy new stuff it if makes more sense.
The doorway on the upper right goes into the kitchen and the one on the left goes into a hallway to an office and a staircase. The hearth is low - just one brick height off the ground - so not sure if it makes sense to put the tv on it? Thanks!!

Do you already have the furniture? If so, cut out the furniture to scale using graph paper. Try different arrangements using the room you posted. How big is the tv? Can it sit on the hearth? Where do the 2 inner doorways lead?

My front door opens into my living room, that has a fireplace too, so I understand the struggle. I can't tell the depth of your TV, but I suggest mounting it on the wall next to what looks like a hallway. You could mount it on a tilt towards the couch, or however you please. Get rid of the corner mount TV table. Hang plants or install display shelves/book shelves, hang a gallery wall with the corner to make the room more personal. If you wish! Good luck.

What about putting the TV on the wall across from the fireplace with the two windows. Since it's so big, it will cover the windows a bit. Then you'd have two sofas facing one another - one with it's back to the other window.

If this was my home i would change the fireplace...remove the mantle...extend the brick to the ceiling...paint it white and put the tv over the fire place...on the brick...the views look so beautiful l might suggest you consider more or bigger windows

I think you should keep the TV in the same area but wall mount it left of the window on an articulated arm so it can be adjusted for best viewing. If that is a corner credenza, switch to one that sits flat against the wall. If the chaise can be disconnected from the rest of the sofa, I would do that and turn the sofa so the part that is against the windows now would be turned to the entrance area. I would have to see more inclusive photos of the "foyer" end of the room to see where you might put the chaise and the leather chair. One of them may have to go to another room.

The tv should go on right of window where the lamp is now. Swing the sec; over to other end.

sectional is the problem too large for the room. sofa on double window wall. 2 swivel chairs facing single window wall. TV mounted on the wall to left of single window with console below.
