IMO incandescent bulbs cast a yellow tint to everthing so if you like that look then do warm LEDs I don’t think you need a baffle with 4” pot lights and LED bulb. I much prefer to keep colors looking the same at night as in the daytime so I do 4000K Leds but that is a personal choice.

@HALLETT & Co. I think I've read you like the Nora lights? I'm deliberating between the Nora Iolite 2" and 4" round recessed and deep adjustable recessed lights and the WAC Oculux. I've got some WAC step lights and initially I was thinking of going the WAC Ocularc route, but upstairs I have a LOT of wall washing (under the eaves in places), and I don't want a gimbal. I'd prefer a deep recessed adjustable.

I've heard older Nora deep adjustables leave black spaces when adjusting (e.g. on a sloped roof). Have you used them as wall washers? This is our new build, dream home but I just don't have the budget for $400 lights!!!!

The earlier discussion was for interior lights. Exterior lighting is a whole different ballgame. I never use cans outside as you are asking for wasps and other critters to build nests in them. I have a few faux cans in my soffits to light specific areas (grill, steps) but otherwise I have landscape lighting and sconces.

When you use terms like sloped roof and gable those are used to describe the exterior of a home. You mean that you have sloped ceilings which are something else altogether! The Nora trim used to have an adjustable bracket inside that allowed adjustment up to 30° but they have discontinued this trim. I liked that all trims looked the same with the bulb above the ceiling plane. Maybe wac has an option like this, haven’t needed to explore it recently.
