Thanks! Yes floors are very pretty but they are beige and seem very traditional. Paint will transform the space but the floors really throw me off. I have a completely different style. More like RH modern so I just don’t see how these floors will blend with black, brass, grey tones. Maybe it’s just hard to envision because the yellow walls throw everything off!!! 🤦‍♀️

The current paint color isn't doing those pretty floors any favors. If you can find a paint color that you like that works with the floors I would keep them and spend the money on a fabulous rug, entry table and chandelier.

I agree! Would love to save the $ but I also like wood floors. I plan to use chantilly lace by BM. Guess maybe have to paint entry first to see how it looks together

I’m not a huge fan of “dramatic entryways”. They feel to me like spaces in the home that are never actually used by anyone for anything.
I’d prefer to aim for a welcoming, interesting entryway.

If you select a floating floor, you might be able to go right over top of the marble without having to remove it.

Wow, that floor is already modern and beautiful. Painting the walls, furnishings, and new stair runner and lighting could be a nice update. That being said if you have your heart set on a new floor then go for it. This is an amazing floor for that wow factor. Congrats on your new home.

To me (and I'm a Scandi Modern fan) the FLOORING in the entrance is style neutral. It is polished stone. To modernize it I would probably have it sanded down to a slightly lower gloss (get rid of the slip factor...have you ever tried to walk across I high-gloss stone floor in stilettos = deadly!).

The OUT OF DATE part is the staircase. That is TOTAL old world. The STAIRS are giving you the dated look you don't like. The cost to CHANGE the stairs = 4 TIMES the cost of new floors in the entrance. This is a project that will take THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of dollars to deal with.

Save the money on the stone (again...maybe refinish as honed + sealed) and spend those THOUSANDS of dollars on the stair case.

Once the stair case is done, you will feel an INSTANT update in the entrance. Done like dinner.
