Fabulous! It feels to me that it needs "matting" or "framing." I like how the dark wall comes through the piece, but having the entire dark wall going on well beyond it, does make it look like something more is needed. It feels to me that it needs "matting" or "framing." Imagine that there was a "mat" or "frame" painted around it. You could try it out with paper taped to the wall to see if that is enough. Or maybe one of the clever folks here could photoshop that for you. I hate to add, maybe try hanging it a bit higher (not easy to do, I know).

I like it as is -- it makes a statement and you have a story. Adding to it would take away that story IMO because it would just be a piano interior with "stuff"!

Sometimes found objects just need to be by themselves to make the best effect. Glad you painted the wall behind it.

What a wonderful piece! Love that you have displayed something with a story, and I think it looks super as it is with nothing else needed. Oh, and your spindles are not "dated." That's just silly.

Thank you for your input. We have discussed lighting but haven’t came up with the perfect solution. I do like the matting frame idea.
