What should I do with this blank space next to fireplace?
At first I liked the simplicity of having nothing to the left of the fireplace and the asymmetrical look, but lately I've been feeling like it needs something. I thought about putting lanterns on the hearth but felt like it needed more height. Considered a tall vase with branches, but haven't found a branch that would work. And I feel like a big piece of art would be too heavy and take away from the design of the fireplace. Any suggestions?

I'd look at mocking up for size and scale before committing.

6 years agoI vote for cushions on the ledge. We find that they are great auxilliary seating when we entertain a group. Also one of the large sculptures or a bold black and white piece of art
