So I checked out these two and I don't care for either. The Sailrite one looks like a lot of extra work and a big no to the top stitching. Can't begin to imagine where they came up with that odd construction? Putting the headrail together is helpful if using that headrail, but otherwise..............

I don't care for the second one either. I don't particularly care for the pillowcase method. I guess it might work for some but I just don't care for it.

I looked at a few more online, but didn't like any of them. Don't have time to check them all out tho.

Thanks for taking the time to review the methods from those 2 sites. Please give me the book name and I will investigate. As I mentioned in my other thread, my window clearance is minimal so I will have to mount the Romans on a 1 X 1 inch board.

So this is the book: Singer Window Treatments

It's pretty much how I make mine. She gives two methods. I do hand stitch mine, as in those directions, but you can use tape if you don't want to hand stitch. I don't usually use ribs (or dowels) but you can go either way. If you use them, you can put them just in the lining or sew pockets thru the fabric and lining to add interest. I'd use a flat bar at the bottom rather than a round bar.

There should be no problem using a 1x1.
