These are 40 year old oak floors that were hidden under wall-to-wall carpeting for 38 years. The clients dog had chewed a hole in the carpeting and we were going to replace it, until I saw the original floor and convinced her that it would suit her style more to have the hardwood show.

Did you refinish them too? It looks like very traditional red oak flooring.

They had been protected for so long that they didn't need refinishing, just a good buffing. And, yes, they are red oak.
