You can consider a concrete counter with industrial faucets for your desired style. I think a white ceasarstone would look great. White on white/cream, then the floor and ceiling the wood. Nice contrasts above and below. I think a brown counter will "chop" the room.

I really like the structure but i would change wall color an cabinet color to match the beautiful counter tops an add some lighting over sink,maybe some single lights hanging an some lighting over the kitchen with solar type lights with curves ,the rest is beautiful...

I like your cabinets. I don't think I would paint them. I would paint the walls white and put in a white quartz countertop to brighten things up. Also, I would remove the pot rack and the wire sailboat, and change out the light fixture to something more current and transitional looking. Possibly 'box in" your refrigerator if you can to make it look built in.

I suspect you could accomplish all of that for your $6K budget, 1/2 of which will probably go to your new countertops -- I suspect you'll get some people posting $30K remodel ideas, so be prepared ;)

I don't think it needs much -- it's a pretty kitchen.

I would consider removing the wall between the kitchen & dining area as well as the wall cabinets along that wall. This will really open up & lighten up your kitchen. I also agree with your idea to paint the cabinets!

I LOVE your granite countertops the way they are. After painting your cabinets it will change the look completely!

Thanks for all the great suggestions! I'm going to start with the countertops. I'm replacing them with either Buttermilk or Dreamy Malfi Caesarstone. I'm also going to update the light fixture, sink, and sink fixtures to a more transitional look. We are planning to paint the cabinets an off-white, and we start the project in a month! Hi Everyone! We are almost done with our Kitchen Remodel! We ended up taking down the wall to open up the kitchen, we put in buttermilk caesarstone, a new backsplash/sink/faucet. We painted the cabinets and my doors get installed tomorrow!
Now - I really need help with lighting! I want to put in 2 pendants and would love advice. I've attached a pic of our dining room light, which you will be able to see from the kitchen. I also need some advice on entryway lights...so I included that as well! Thank you so much!

If you can install a rev-a-shelf pull out trash can you could eliminate the free standing one. They are great; easy DIY.
