Does this artwork work?

I have a small powder room on my first floor, pics below. I LOVE (read: obsessed) these prints, specifically the lady and her awesome earrings, but I feel like I'm the worst at selecting artwork for my house. Would these prints work in my tiny powder room above the toilet? Or is this too much color?

I adore the art and your flamboyant wallpaper! I think the portraits bring an extra measure of fun and quirkiness to the space, and I'd hang them in a heartbeat. It's not often we see a sense of style like yours in these forums, and frankly, it's a breath of fresh air. :)

Thank you all for the kind words. It made me sure of my decision to order at least one of these.
I definitely need 2, but unsure of the other option. I do love the artist... Any thoughts on her other prints? https://www.artfullywalls.com/artists/305169/janet-hill

@tsjmjh, wallpaper is Honshu pattern by Thibaut. I love love it!

@Jilly, thank you so much for the mock-ups!! That really helps and I have no idea how to do that.
The images are 12x16, no matte. I'll just order them and have them framed at a store here. I can order them with frames, but I'm not a fan of the offerings. I'll most likely order 2 prints, definitely the woman in red, unsure of another.

@User, they are a tad quirky, right? :) I like having a little fun in my bathrooms. Small spaces with big impact.

I love the playfulness of this one:

I love her too! The print does not come in the same size as the other, does it matter? I'm thinking not...? I would hang her above the lady in red.

These two are fabulous. I can’t decide which I like better, I love them both.

She’s fab, too ... love her glasses and cats:

I think you just might need more than two ladies in this space. ;) Not that you want to cover up that fabulous wallpaper, but those girls do lend themselves nicely to thoughts of a gallery wall!

    I also love the wallpaper.

Oh, @Jilly, those are my other faves... the Tiger lady and the one sitting atop the chaise. I just can't decide!

I love the idea of several ladies and the one pipe smoking man. The look on his face is wonderful!

I like how the background of the lady in the flower dress plays with the foliage of the wallpaper, but they are all great. I can see why you like them.

Your wallpaper is fabulous and I love the painting of the woman in red. I really like it when faces are communicating in art. This is not a very good example but you see how the top painting is playing with the bottom one because the top lady is looking down?

I love the wallpaper and I love the art. I just don't like the two together.

I love most of those prints and think a gallery wall of them over the wallpaper would work if you are into quirky and amusing. It would be a lot but it would be sufficiently over the top to work (rather than look accidental).

I love whimsy in home interiors, but I don't think this combination is whimsy. The wallpaper all by itself is pretty whimsical as selections go. Combining it with some ceramic wall decor might be enough.

I love the art in that site you shared, thank you!! The only thing wrong with it is that there aren't enough! :)

I love the wallpaper and the prints. It's a bold move to bring in a "different" style with it being the only "different" in the room. That said, the five I think would work are:

    1. the man. colors are neutral and don't clash with wallpaper, also it brings a masculinity to the room

    2. Lady looking up. Neutral colors

    3. Lady looking down. colors work well, and white background kinda works with the white toilet.

    4. Lady in green skirt. Colors work, scale of the shapes offset the white block of the toilet.

    5. Other lady would work because the green background works with the wallpaper.

All need a frame, an ornate gold frame would be a gutsy move and be a "mood" but might look a little matchy with the mirror. Maybe a thin brass frame to compliment the mirror.

I think you need to look at colors first, then scale of the prints shapes. I would love to see what a similar print with the same blue background of your wallpaper would look like. Could look like a person peeking through the wallpaper!

the lady with the heart glasses would also be fabulous and bring in some fun, if the background color were a little more lime than teal.

I don't think I would do two stacked, would look too column like above the toilet. You .could find a beautiful knob of some sort and hang the print from it with a, I don't know, ribbon or thin gold chain?

I feel like bringing in the prints with the red and orange, would need that color somewhere else in the room.

I once found a pile of about 30 amatuer portraits, similar to these, on the side of the road with other free items. You have inspired me to dig them out and find places for them in my home.

I hope you come back and show us what you decided upon.

    ^^^ Love this idea!

Just chiming in - love your wallpaper and woman with earrings print for above toilet , also agree with the idea of two prints communicating, really fun.

If you do two pieces, I'd pick the man with glasses and the woman with sunglasses. The glasses thing. Just one? I'd pick your original red with earrings one. That would all depend on colors not clashing. Don't have to match, but at least be complementary. A bit.

Not sure why you feel that you need something above the toilet. The wallpaper is enough. Put the prints in another area.
