This was what the kitchen looked like on the day we closed on the house.

We scraped ceilings, removed paper and painted and changed flooring before we ever moved in.

On the other side of the wall seen above is the dining room. At first we straightened out this wall so our dining room hutch would fit on it in the dining room.

This is how the wall looked from the dining room side on closing day. The blue tape is where we were going to add some walls and built ins to separate the living space from the dining and from the secondary bedrooms.

Here is a photo of our hutch in the dining room the day before we opened up the wall. We'd lived with it like this for about 18 months or so.

@Alice Thank you! It’s been a few years since it went in and I honestly can’t remember the manufacturer.. it’s a hand scraped hardwood, but I could honestly never recommend it to anybody as it scratches and chips far too easily.

Oh really, thank you for responding. I’m going dark wood style in flooring in our home and love your look. Vinyl plank floor is my budget but really don’t like the look. I will keep looking/saving, lol. Thank you again and truly want to tell you your kitchen is beautiful!!!!
