Shades for the skylights. Can The TV go on the wall where the small table is now?

What about putting the TV opposite the fireplace, have the sofa face the fireplace in the middle of the floor. A sofa table behind and 2 swivel chairs flanking the fireplace area. You can place 2 chairs aside the sofa for TV viewing. You would have 2 separate areas but they would still be able to converse with each other.

yeah agree with other commenter, put the tv where the small table is, and get a sectional. seems like you're more into xbox than the view, new curtains tho. the sectional would let you have the cozy fireplace vibe. the room is large, i'd go sectional for sure. And no, you don't need an accent chair right now.

Since the room is so large, I'd make it into two separate seating areas-one for the fireplace area and another for t.v. watching. I would put the t.v. where the love seat is and place the sofa across from it. Then add another chair or two with an area rug to ground the space. In front of the fireplace, place two chairs facing the fireplace with a small table in between them. If you add ottomans, you'll have a cozy, private space to enjoy the fire. Then add new curtains as suggested. If they're lined, they'll look a lot better. You can get shades as suggested for the skylights.

IMO this shape does not lend itself easily to 2 areas. Get solar shades for the skylights and then post a floor plan to scale I think you can easily have 2 sofas and 2 chairs in this space but I need a floor plan with measurements and all windows and doorways marked and the fireplace . I dislike sectionals since IMO they are really not comfortable seating except for the 2 people that got the armrests. So happy you do not have the TV above the FP.
