This should make you feel better. Here is what the delivery guys did to my new washer when installing it. I inspected it while it was still the the garage. Not a scratch on it. First matching set I've had since my first set 40 years ago (sigh). It's on the front right corner. Lowes has credited me $179. I'm ok with that I guess. I'll get some white appliance paint and no one (but me) will know it's there.

monicakm_gw - Yep, a little bit of spackle or Bondo body filler and some paint will fix it up. :-)

If it makes you feel any better, my BIL dropped a wrench on the lid to my new washer when installing it. I was buying appliance touch-up paint before ever running a load of wash ;0) I survived, and so did our relationship.

I have a ding on my SQ panel too. Welcome to the club.

Fifteen minutes after my new Speed Queen was in my house, my handyman spilled paint on it, did not clean it up nor tell me so it dried to a perfect finish on that Speed Queen enamel coating.

Something about new washing machines...just like new cars...the dings and opps find them.

I cannot actually see any ding in the pic -- but that may be my screen or eyes.

How large is the ding? How large a "cover" would you need to hide it?

After you follow all the great advise above, consider making it a project to find something you like that you could attache to the control panel to cover it up.

One idea might be to add (glue) a metal clamp ($1 at Dollar Tree) to it to hold a "to do" list or grocery list or a small calendar or add a metal board intended for use as a white board -- you can write messages directly onto the board of have it magnets hold the notes/messages.

If I could see the ding in the picture, I may offer a solution, however, the fact that I and other readers can't even find it may tell you all you need to know.

I had to enlarge the picture. It is in the bottom under the Q, just above the lid. Auto places have a ding removal tool.

Still can't see it. If this is your worst problem, then you are leading a charmed life.

The real issue is that they don't make them like they used to. Everything dings easily these days.

Same thing happened to our new fridge. New house, new fridge, new everything...10 years ago...I agonized over it, now I have no idea why I cared. This too shall pass. (I like the magnet idea)

I hope I didn't make OP feel slighted with my above comment. I understand how he/she feels. That wasn't my intent. I too was quite upset about the paint on my minutes old Speed Queen washing machine, but in time, it doesn't hurt anymore--and honestly, no one notices it but me. Even I don't notice it sometimes. Funny how you go blind to things after a while.

Kinda like when one of my kids carved, yes carved hearts into our new at the time butcher block dining table. omg I came unhinged. A friend tried to soothe me at the time by saying years from now I would adore those carved in hearts. Being livid, I was not buying it, but she was right. When I gave the table away years later, I was sad to see the carved in hearts go, much more than the table. Not the same I know, but over time, the ding will not be anything you get upset about anymore. Find a magnet with something that makes you smile. I think that will help. Let's hope it's not aluminum! If it is, a sweet sticker might do the job.
