advice on gutters

last modified: 6 years ago

I'm a first time homeowner of an old house (1900). As you can see from the photo, it has a lot going on in terms of color, additions, and various elements. While I'd love to eventually do other things in terms of the exterior, right now I'm looking to replace barely-functioning gutters to help keep water away the stone foundation--and I'd also like to pick an option that would improve the appearance of the house. Am wondering if half-round gutters would be worth the additional expense, and also struggling with what colors to match or whether galvalume or galvanized steel for the downspouts and/or gutters might be a better options. No plans to repaint the house anytime soon, but I'd love to do some other things in terms of landscaping and smaller projects to make the house cute. I'm don't have a huge budget, but I'd like to do things right. Thank you for your advice!
