Suggestion on lower priced quartz similar to Caesarstone Empira White

We really like the Caesarstone Empira White and have received 3 quotes, that all came back within $65 of each other. Unfortunately it is higher than anticipated as we are in need of 54 square feet, so need two slabs, and will be paying for a lot of waste. Price per square foot ends up at $145 before tax. This is for an L shaped counter, a sink cutout, a cooktop cutout, a peninsula on one end with an overhang, a 30"x24" section between my fridge and ovens, and a 33" vanity in the bathroom.

What we like about the Empira White is the stark white and the grey/black vein style vs. the veins on something like Calacatta Nuvo.

There are two Hanstone styles pictured below that closely match the Empira White which is the sample on top. This is the store lighting which adds a little bit of red it looks like, but I have the samples at my house under proper lighting as well.

Are there other brands/styles you can think of that offer a crisp white with this vein style? One place told us to come back and have a look at Kstone or TCE. I am located in Toronto.

Thanks!

IMO white granite is just better than quartz and often cheaper .

Hi, I see you are in Toronto. I didn't actually visit this place but it was recommended to me by a kitchen shop. They have quite a large selection of quartz patterns. There are a few pictured that might be close to what you are looking for. Venetian Aura, Venetian Cloud. Maybe Carrera Bliss or Ria Venato......

    Quartex, located in Concord.

I see you can book a tour online - they used to be open weekends - I assume they still are. I was so frustrated because both the Silestone and Caesarstone showrooms in the Toronto area, are only open weekdays. It made it impossible for my husband and I to go together to look at options unless we both took a vacation day.

Ceasarstone's White Attica, similar to Empira White, comes in a jumbo which would give you 58sf out of one slab. You're not getting a seam match with either and you may have to have an extra seam or two to save money. An apron front sink saves a lot of waste too.

Troy, I'm wondering if you found a solution? I am having the same issue and was offered alternatives but nothing seems to look even close. If you went with Empira White, perhaps I could buy your remnants?

Is the overhang at the breakfast bar supported?

    Your kitchen looks lovely.

    Gorgeous!!

Thank you for the response and the photos! Your kitchen turned out great. I am not sure Lucent is available in my area but I will see if I can find it. The stark white is what I love about the Empira White.

    Love your kitchen

I have Hanstone Tranquility and am very happy with it. It is whiter than the close up picture indicates.

@Troy Mitchell Thanks for closing the loop on this and sharing what you decided on. What made you choose the Lucent White Blossom in the end. Was it mainly price, or did you find it to be the closest thing to match the Caesarstone?

In your original photos, you shared the Empira White side-by-side with the two Hanstone samples. With your comparison, they all looked virtually identical. Was that you experience of all three samples in person? I only have a sample of the Empira White, and nothing else I have seen has come close, so I'm just wondering what they all looked like in person (including the Lucent that you chose in the end).

It's really hard to make a decision sight-unseen so really appreciate any comfort/clarity you can give on this. Thanks so much!

Which company did you end up using as a fabricator? Can you recommend them?

If you’re interested in Caesarstone Empira white quartz, check out Home Depot. They usually have it on sale for 20% off every other week.

i'm looking at going with Empira white from HD. I used their online tool for an estimate and is much lower pricing than other local companies but little weary about their install services . Has anyone used HD countertops install services, any issues?

That's because the big box stores negotiate material prices directly with the slab manufacturers. Local fabricators cannot purchase slabs at that price, insuring the big box will always be the low price producer. Same with large homebuilders and even McDonalds.

The big boxes award large fabrication contracts. As a fabricator, it's pretty safe and easy to make the $5,000.00 monthly nut on a $300,000.00 CNC machine when you know you've got the work of 20 big boxes coming in every month. This again gives nearly overwhelming leverage to the big box. They can make a fabricator eat a job or two every year if they have to; he's not going anywhere. I've seen this happen when I worked for a big box fabricator.

The only downside is you pay up front and in full, but it's a safe bet you'll be satisfied.

The Tranquilty looks very blue not charcoal. Would you agree? I love it and want to use it but afraid it is going to show blue not gray

I too am looking for a Ben Moore white colour to match Empira White quartz in my kitchen? Any suggestions? Chantilly Lace?

I’m getting Empira installed this week ! I did Chantilly lace for the cabinets ...my wall colour is Aria from Dulux I can’t wait to see !

Oh yay! Okay I'm glad we are on the same page! Good luck with the install. I would love to see pics once it's in.

I am thinking of Empira White with SW Pure White cabinets and IndoTeak Hexagonal backsplash tiles in white.

I am contemplating using Empira white by Caesarstone. I need a very white background but with subtle veining. Im EW, are there several open areas of whiteness or is the veining throughout the slab. I only have a small sample and it is difficult to see the pattern. I have tried going online but not easy to see that way, either. Plan on using it with white cabinets. Thanks.

I think that would look so good ! Here is my kitchen backsplash

I find the veining on the Empira to be subtle and spread out with large areas of white.

Shannon, is the quartz you are displaying made by Caesarstone,  Empira White?

Reading through this thread, the Empira White looks beautiful. The veining appears to be dark in color and pronounced? Or, is it more subtle than it appears in the photo?

Yes It is ! I have more pictures if you would like to see

This is a bigger slab in my island

I would appreciate any and all of the pictures, Shannon. Looks fabulous.

    Reno was this summer :)

Thank you, Shannon! Your photos are beautiful. Enjoy that gorgeous kitchen. I'm planning to get some samples of  Empira White to see how it will look in my kitchen.

We went with MSI Iced White and LOVE the glass fragments in it.

I'm curious, for those who installed Caesarstone Empira White, how has it held up?
