Hi - What a cool problem to have! I love your great room decor; you’re doing so many things right. Understated and elegant.

So here are some thoughts for your delightful niche:

A tall and thin floor mounted sculpture might be ideal. For the height you would need - probably six feet at least - you’ll likely spend a pretty penny. But not necessarily. Just have the dimensions in the back of your mind when you’re antiquing or at an art show. Glass, metal, wood, or clay artists might have something that could work for you.

Or think in opposite direction - something tall and thin that would hang in the space. That could be any of the art styles above, hung from the ceiling instead. Or maybe a fabric or fiber art piece. (A tapestry?) You could follow the curve of the wall by mounting fabric on clip hangers at the top.

Be on the lookout for hanging art that is three dimensional so that it works with your curve. African or Harlequin masks would be the kind of shape, but maybe not the right style for your room. One possibility might be clay roof tile art. You might see if artists in your area are working with used clay roof tiles. It’s fun recycled art!

You might consider some kind of column or small round pedestal table to display a smaller piece of art. Your hutch (to the right of the TV) and sofa table art tray both have wavy glass. You might think about a base piece in the gray color of your hutch with a wavy glass vase or art piece on top. If you find a piece of art but don’t like the pedestal/table idea, you could have a carpenter custom make a shelf for your niche. (I would go with a leaf shape to fill in and curve out from the niche.)

My last idea might not fit your style - have an artist paint a mural based on your room colors in the niche. If your really adventurous about it, you could have the artist do the niche where the TV is mounted too. That’s out there, I know!

Your niche wall is a really unique and fun detail to have in your home. Have fun with it, whatever you do!

I would consider a tall oval floor vase with tall filler. Branches or pampas grass.

A runner could also help make the space look more finished and ground it as well. Here is a crude mockup, my photoshop skills are not great.

Have you tried those two herons from the great room sitting on the floor there?

Measurements would be helpful. Nice space. The looking up sculpture or you can get him looking at you which I will post.

You could paint it Peppercorn SW to make the wall stand out. Simple. A large tall white floor vase. Elegant but simple.

I think Ida‘s idea is wonderful and fits your aesthetic perfectly. Classic, balanced, and elegant ... would add a lovely accent without looking forced or busy.

A dark wall color will show the lines and curves of the alcove with the contrast of the white floor vase. Harmonizes your LR and hallway.

Just wondering, is that a fireplace hiding behind the console?

How about one of the birds but larger and maybe paint that wall a dark color with the white bird.

I think that would be a lovely spot to feature a glass art vase. The light above it and the curved wall behind it would make it a real focus. Place it on a plant stand like Ida suggested.

You could even have fun searching for your favourite which pulls the colours from your painting.

I love IdaClaire's suggestion of the (gorgeous) English plant stand with a great Boston fern on it.

I love your artwork. The light and curvature gives some interest to the walls, so I don't think anything is needed in the space. The alcove would be beautiful painted in a blue that coordinates with your pillows and the art. It would also give a sense of walking into another space, and add dimension without clutter.

Here are the colors of the walls - The main walls are SW Loggia; the Ceiling of the “rotunda” is Comfort Gray to coordinate with the master bath which is SW Silvermist; I also have Comfort Gray in my Kitchen dining niche to balance the ceiling rotunda. Many have suggested painting the curved wall an accent color - should I paint it the Comfort Gray? Change the ceiling color? Or do I choose another color altogether like Jodie White suggested? The curvature of the wall is 53” wide and 11.5” deep.

You could use Acacia Haze, which is a deeper version of the Comfort Gray. That would be beautiful and give you depth while still being fairly neutral.

Love your ceiling. After seeing this I recommend simple mirrors on that wall and leave paint color as is. Very elegant and not taking away from other elements in the surrounding spaces.
