Nice clump photo. My blackberry lilies are in part shade and need to be staked. I suppose I should find a full sun spot for them so they can shine like your photo.

Haven't grown these in decades, the one I had looked pretty much the same as the above photo, I didn't keep in for the long haul, though certainly wouldn't mind now trying some of the newer hybrids.

Oh cool! I always wondered why they were called blackberry lilies! Now I know. They are very exotic looking.

I prefer Pardancandas to Belamcandas, but I never let the seeds develop--waaaay too much seeding about for me to handle. Too bad because the seeds are indeed interesting.

Blackberry lilies are one of my favorite flowers. Originally from my grandmother via my mom, they grow, spread and change over the years as they cross pollinate. All pictures are from 2026 Central Illinois.
