IMO, it gives one a good workout. I like the adjustability of it, the smoothness of resistance, making one work against one's own weight instead of lifting cast iron.

My sister has had several. She absolutely loves it. It is just right for her to get a good light workout. I tried hers once and it definitely was a workout. It probably wouldn't be something a gym rat would be happy with but for her needs it works.
