Hi! You should be able to change the way your name displays within a thread if you go into your edit profile. There‘s another name section ‘Profile Information’ you can change.

I had trouble logging in today also, and I had to have Houzz send me a link to log in, even though I never logged out. Very strange. I did not have to re-enter my password either.

I had to re-login on all my devices today too.

I had to change my password today, and I still get notices to log in again, even though I checked the box to keep me logged in.

Just a moment ago I opened this forum from a link in my favorites - the same way I get here everyday. Didn't notice I was not signed in until I went to comment on a thread and saw the notification to sign in to be able to participate. WTH?? Rather than sign in - I had problems with that a while back and almost lost my gardenweb access - I opened a new tab and tried it again. This time I was logged in as usual. They keep playing around with stuff and 9 times out of 10 it causes problems.

AAAARRRRGGGG!!!!! Just went to a different forum and I'm now in Houzz hell! My gardenweb links are gone and I have the houzz format - yuk! Those jerks!

Thank goodness for my Hot Topics link. Since that is only accessed through gardenweb, it somehow makes the other forum addresses revert back to gw from houzz. I never participate at HT but I won't give up that link!

I had to sign back in twice today. If that will be necessary every time I pop in, chances are I’ll stop popping in. It’s a minor thing but just one more irritation I‘ll remove from my life. 🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s happening to me, too — started last night. I’ve actually gotten logged off while browsing the site. I get redirected to some weird page, look up, and see I’m suddenly not signed in. And like you, Deb, I can’t get my gardenweb url back, it’s all Houzz pages now.

Yes, me too this morning. I was able to access The Kitchen Table via a bookmark, but no other forum titles showed up in my list of favorites to the left. Kept getting a bunch of pop-ups from Houz. Finally, got a request to log in. So I tried it. Now I have my forum list back. Will see what happens the next time I enter through KT.

Oh the puppy pic came up!! Even though as I'm typing this, it shows another pic as my profile. It also shows that pic when I look at my profile, but apparently it did save the change. Weird!

OOPS!!! And I'm not tinam62 - I'm Tina Marie!!! Whatever. Hope ya'll get used to the change. LOL

@Jinx the only way I get my gardenweb url to come in through Hot Topics which doesn't have a secondary houzz url. From there on my list of topics, the forums come ups as gardenweb.

This is interesting because I keep having to sign in, even though I'm not signing out. This started yesterday for me as well.

Same thing happened to me this morning-I had to log in. My old name and password for gw didn't work, but the one I had for houzz, did. And yet here i am with my old gw handle. Go figure.

I had to change my password. When I went to the saved password setting in one of my browsers, I got a message that the passwords had been stolen since my last login. That's probably why things are screwy today.

For those that had to log back in, did you have to log in on app and on your computer or just one or the other? Did this all happen in the last 24 hours?

You should be using your Houzz login and password. That will log you in on the Gardenweb.com url as well.

For me, Safari on my iPad. Started last night, I was getting logged off even while I was actively on the site. Today I get logged off every time I leave the site (close the browser).

ETA: I’ve never had the app.

I only use my computer for this site, and every time I close the browser and reopen it, I have to log back in. If I go to a different web site without closing the browser, then I do not have to log back in.

I keep getting logged off when I'm on my laptop but not my mobile. I also keep getting error messages when I try to open threads. Once again, this site has issues.

On a mac laptop, using Safari. Have never used the app. Did not have to log back in this afternoon but had to use the saved url for home decorating conversations which I never had to do in the past.

i was logged off too. So annoying!

I had to log in again, even though I had keep me logged in checked. Using Chrome on a desktop.

ETA: I got logged out on my iPhone (not with app) and I'm getting the same message jinx posted above when I try to log back in.

This is really frustrating, Houzz. I use these forums as my down time. I don't have time to be fiddling and fussing all the time. I have about 10 minutes a day where I just want to forget about work stress and check-in. I don't want more stress from the thing I'm doing to de-stress. The last thing I want to do after trying to get 18 six year olds logged onto iPads, is to spend my few precious minutes trying to log into here.

Looks like I'm not alone. It started with me last night, and I had to reset my password too. And it keeps logging me out. I have my new password memorized now. :)

Ping, it does. Not only that, just now I was making a reply in the spring cleaning topic and three times in a row when I scrolled up to read another reply before I answered, everything I was writing disappeared.

Emily - on my windows 10 laptop, using Chrome, not the app, If I close the browser I have to log in again each time. It re-directs me to the Houzz url even though my bookmark is gardenweb. Every time. If I use my bookmark for Hot Topics, that opens with the gardenweb url but still asks me to sign in each time. Once I do, if I then go to another forum it stays with the gardenweb url but only if I start in Hot Topics.

On my Android phone, not using the app but again a chrome browser, I don't need to sign in each time but I did have to this morning for the first time in ages. That opens consistently in the gardenweb url regardless of which forum bookmark I use.

I don't use the app, don't like the app and wish Houzz IT would understand there are a lot of us who prefer to work off of browsers here.

I am being logged out on my computer using Chrome and on my phone using Firefox. I would never install a Houzz app. 😝

I'm being logged out repeatedly too. Very very annoying.

Thanks for the link, but is there a link to Gardenweb with all the forums listed ? When I use the old url. ths.gardenweb.com it takes me to a page with just the Australia and New Zealand forums. I know I can access them through Houzz, but can we please have our old url back ?

A bit late, but my login is the same for both Houzz & Gardenweb. I'm on a Mac desktop and Android phone using Chrome browser & had to sign back in a few of times on each platform.

All seems to be OK now.
