I think some flowering plants would be good but I'm not sure what zone you live in.

Not a lot can be suggested based on this photo. Maybe just clean up the plant debris in the rock island. In order to assess more for the foundation planting, you need to show the complete scene from a closer distance. Move about 15' closer and line the camera up with the front door. Takes a series of slightly overlapping photos that pan from FAR left to FAR right ... we need to see background beyond the house ends for context. If the slope causes problems with getting good pictures, you might stand on a stepladder or in the bed of a pickup truck.

Separately, for the larger front yard, back up and take another photo that shows the whole yard in one picture. If you can't get the front corners into the picture, take a couple of slightly overlapping pictures using the above described method.

It's March, so everything is dreary and you took a picture with the house in shade on a dreary day. My reaction is that it's a really dreary day in a dreary month. Is your house dreary or quite nice? I don't think we can tell.
