I wouldnt be painting it white. The white in your inspriration pictures on the stone, looks fake, and not particularly nice. Nothing I would want in front of my house. Paint the house, and then take another look at it. A gray wash may be what will look the best, but, dont make a decision before you do the painting on the house. The stone looks great right now, so maybe white isnt the best color for your house. Give it some thought. It cant be undone, once it is done.

That is a gorgeous stacked stone wall and you are on the right track to update the house to do it justice!!! I would not paint the wall, but pull colors from it for the house.

I like the natural stone wall, but much dislike the house colors. But painting the house white with dark trim sounds sounds unappealing. I would find colors that go with the patio wall as it is, but find a completely different scheme for the house (other than white & dark trim.)

I guess all those stone farmhouses in Bucks County, PA, are outdated? The stone is the most authentic part of your plan. You should embrace it otherwise it will cheapen the exterior to paint the stone.

Replace the metal gate with a classic Chippendale wood gate and authentic hardware. Plant in front of the stone wall a 3 or 4 foot border of farmhouse flowers like hydrangeas, daisies, peonies, lamb tongue, roses, etc. In the enclosed area arrange outdoor benches and maybe rocking chairs and cushions with a country flair. Nothing in a contemporary pattern. Make it “front porch” inviting with colorful pots of annuals ( I used geraniums, sweet potato vines of green and purple, and tiny starry flowers planted in classic pots ). Set the theme for the house before anyone ever steps inside.
