Drawer Width- Wide or Narrow?

I am planning an Ikea Pax closet wardrobe and I am debating the dresser drawer width. Do I go with three 39" wide drawers or all 19" drawers? I have a lot of small items and so the 39" inch drawers seem like they might be hard to keep organized. I could get dividers but I've had them in the past and I personally don't think they are ideal. The 19" drawers seem like they could be more practical but might not look as clean/sleek as the wide drawers. What is your preference on drawer width and functionality- wide or narrow and why?

I prefer wide. You can always put small things in a wide drawer but not necessarily the other way around. Wide just seems more practical.

Wide drawers would be my choice. Keep in mind that any drawer uses up "space" (in width) for the necessary side supports and glides. Narrower drawers = more lost space.

It all depends on what you're storing. The closet serves a function, looks are secondary. I think you answered your own question when you said you have a lot of small items. Go with the more practical option.

Ikea makes all kinds of drawer organizers look in the bathroom section for some from Godmorgon vanities too. I never regret having too large of a drawer. Pax , complement are awesome and so many choices.These are just a couple.

I prefer to hang as much as possible and converted one side of my closet to triple hanging rods. The top rod is for out-of-season clothes and I have a long handled hook (like department stores use) to access the contents.

Can we ask what you will be keeping in these drawers?

Wider would be my choice, and perhaps deeper, depending on what you

are storing. Sweaters need a deep drawer.
