Windows painted shut

last modified: 6 years ago

Hi! The windows in my 100-yr-old house have been painted shut for who knows how long (we moved in 5 yrs ago). I am determined to get them open because I love having open windows in nice weather. My husband says I am crazy. I was wondering what the best method might be. Paint removal with heat gun? Paint removal with chemical stripper? I read a blog where someone was able to get through the paint with her Dremel Multi-max, but I am a little afraid of using such force on the window paint for fear or tearing into the wood window frame. I can include a picture if that would help. Thanks All!
