We were checking a washer upstairs to make sure the connections were good (spoiler: they weren’t) and water briefly ran into the pantry next to the washer and through the ceiling into the pantry downstairs, which has small holes in the ceiling, thanks to a not-great electrician.

We immediately realized what was happening, stopped the machine and dried up all the water. It didn’t come through the ceiling, because as I mentioned, the small holes let out the water onto the floor below.

Should we be worried about mold? Damage to the interior of the ceiling? This was not a slow leak, more like a spill, and most of what I can find online concerns leaks. My husband doesn’t think it’s a big deal...
