Do you have a picture of the spot it will grow? What will it climb on?

This is from summer .. last year. I have removed all these plants that are in the highlighted area so this is the post in which it will climb I can add some cable so they can climb here and there but the issue is it is a white background and if it's a rose I don't want a rose with a lot of thorns. I used to have a rose called Isabella which had no Thorns but then the blooms eren't the great and it eventually faded away that is the one you see in the picture .I do like the fact that you can have two different clematis for two different blooming Seasons I would love to try that something with a long blooming time and very easy to maintain...

It has to be colorful but not white ...thanks a lot

You might want to take a look at this post on Zephy. Unfortunately as you don't get much sun, I would suggest Ghislaine de Feligonde, Pink Ghislaine de Feligonde or another of the longer and hardier Hybrid Musks... perhaps even Peggy Martin.

Yes. That is another good one. For some reason I confused you with the other post and thought you were also in Z5. Is Philly Z6 or 7? Cl. Pinkie was tip hardy here to +12F, but was severely knocked backed in winters where it was -7F. It was also on a lower lever so a virtual Z5 probably. It grew backwards there until moved to a premium spot. Smithdale, I'm glad to hear it bloom a lot as this will be my first year to really see her strut her stuff.

It would be great if I could have two or three clematis that will bloom in different times different color variety so that I have flowers throughout the year anything but white

I really liked the pictures I saw of Zepherine sounds hardy and the information I read said It does fairly well in the shade. Whichever rose you choose it will look lovely on the post.

Please consider Raspberry Cream Twirl. I know this rose isn’t as well known as Zephe, but it is well worth it. I grow it against a white background. It faces east and due to lots of trees and the house shadow it gets sun until noon. It is also almost thornless. I do not know how well it would perform in your colder area, but here it doesn’t even lose all its leaves in the winter. It reblooms well and it has good disease resistance. You could grow a rose and a late blooming clematis for an extended color show.

Here it is in November 18 without spray. We had already had a week in October where the temperatures went down to 20 degrees.
