thanks Maureen - Ill see if I can find a mirror like that in your post. That is the color of my white oak floors. I just found it - it is an Uttermost. I have a lot of Uttermost in my house now. I am going to see what the price would be through my mirror supplier. Its considered a light walnut and as another responder commented .....the contrast would be nice.

I actually think that the natural wood mirror looks nice with the wood vanity, and it gives a nice contrast to the art, etc. Agree that the Puritan style is wrong, but think the ornate style is the wrong solution.

maybe something along these lines?

wainscot and wallpaper would really up your french country want.

what might look cool is wainscot around the room, and on the one wall, do the entire space in mirror. then something like this over it. change faucet, lighting

or, do the wall in type of beadboard

you could also do a wallpaper or even this stencil on the wall behind the sink.

Beth - great ideas. I was planning on wallpapering once the virus lock-up thing passes. I have seen some great textures out there and think Id be able to live with that for awhile. I will keep looking. I would love to change out the faucet but its 2 years old and the builder talked me into it- saying the bathroom needed a statement and that would be a good start (extra $400.00).

This obsession started cause of your first picture. I actually picked that out a couple weeks ago but it was too big. Then I found those two others this morning. I already don't like the rectangular one.

your faucet could work w/other items. if you don't want to commit to wallpaper, then look at wall stenciling. I know two of the companies have a ton of ideas you can see on Pinterest. (Royal Design Studio and CuttingEdgeStencils)

oh and maybe im more transitional than french country. I have incorporated a lot of my favorite things from my traditional colonial that I lived in for 25 years. It was straight out of traditional home. I tired of the decor after about 20 years. I started fresh with this new house we built but this powder room needs to get a personality.
