Will you park your regularly used vehicles in the garage? If so, I'd prefer an attached garage or at least a breezeway between the garage and the house. If it's primarily a workshop and storage, consider a detached garage tucked back on the property.

How much space do you have to the setback line on the right? How many cars do you want to park? The renderings here will only accommodate one car. I wouldn't get hung up on the symmetry. Separating the garage and house with a recessed breezeway would make for a more visually interesting front elevation.

Spend the money to have an architect draw up plans for you after telling him / her what your goals are. Will be well worth the money.

Ohhhhhhh yep! You are absolutely right about white garage door

So many boats will not fit into a standard sized garage. Either the garage doesn't have the length to fit the trailer tongue or the height to a accommodate a boat that is boosted on a trailer.

From the street view, I far prefer how a side entry garage does not blast a view of the garage doors in one's face. If it's a front-facing garage, then top notch doors are necessary to keep from bringing the house down a few pegs. I would definitely get an architect in on this from the start.
