Another finish!

I finished this one yesterday. The top was actually made this year! LOL. I have two more to quilt - a table runner and a wall hanging.

It's beautiful! I remember it too and loved it the first time you posted. Are the leaves that go into the border appliqued?

Thanks, everyone! Bev, it’s all paper pieced. The left and bottom borders are part of the PP, then the upper and right borders were added at the end.

Looks like a lot of work to me. But, sure was worth it. It's a beauty.

Donna, your Birds of Paradise turned out beautifully. I made that same wallhanging several years back. I used to take it to Hawaii with me every year and hang it on the wall. I didn't want to leave it there when we came home, because I thought it was just too easy for a renter to steal. I never had any problem with theft of anything all the years we rented the unit out, but I worked too many hours on it to risk losing it.

It's gorgeous, the blooms are just stunning, the leaves breaking beyond the frame are so effective.

    Was this from a kit?

That is so beautiful! I remember that one and if you don't have a place for it, I know one in my house where it would go! :)

Bird of Paradise are gorgeous to look at, but if you ever had to trim one, its a nightmare. I like the ones on your quilt much better, Donna! Very well done!

Thanks, everyone! Lois, mine was a kit so I can't take any credit for the fabric choices. :)

We're going to try hanging it over our fireplace. It's a fairly large wall space so the quilt may be too small. If that's the case I'll find somewhere else for it. My spare bedroom has a tropical theme but the walls in there are already pretty full. :)

PS - if anyone wants the pattern I'll be happy to send it to you. Warning: it will require a LOT of tracing the pattern onto freezer paper. Fortunately the kit came with a freezer paper pattern already made.

Donna, on the website that sells the pattern, you can also buy replacement freezer paper sheets for $6.50. thedesignersworkshop.com

We finally decided where to hang the bird of paradise. This is the little hall going into the master bedroom.

Donna, you inspired me to hang my Birds of Paradise in my sewing room/office. It had been languishing in the closet. I guess I need to attach the lower corners too. Thanks.

Pretty, Lois! I like paper piecing a lot but these big units were a pain to fit together. :)

That is awesome. I do admire people who do beautiful handwork.
