Help: Ledger Stone or Tile spa facing water in pool?

My daughter asked me to post to Houzz community here for opinions - which would you rather see, tile on the spa facing the pool or ledger stone?

The tile pic shows what is currently placed at the water line (and below the pool edge) and they want to have something above it: either continue the tile or use the ledger stone that they are going to use on the back side of the spa. Tile is planned for under the spa spillway.

    Calcium carbonate (the dreaded "white crusty stuff") is the BANE of pool upkeep in The Valley. Your daughter was so wise to use large tiles at the waterline. After the ledger stone is "cut to fit the curve" the product won't look as intended. Suggest she use the (very pretty) tile throughout.
