Thanks! I caught a picture of the Royal Standard this AM, but did not have time to post it yet. It was raining and I had to get to work. Thank you for the moral support. I know that this HVX problem is widespread globally, a hosta virus pandemic. I am going to focus on the fact that this plant has been amazing for years. It saved all of the other plants when it nearly died from the vole attack. So, it may have transmitted a deadly virus to all of the other plants (thanks to me). I would not have had the other plants to admire for the past 3 years if the Royal Standard had not been there to tempt the voles. Nothing lasts forever. Can you tell that I am trying to make lemonade from these lemons?

My condolences under the oaks. HVX isn’t something any of us want to deal with. Royal Standard seems quite susceptible to it, as does Winter Snow and Blue Cadet, which are the only two varieties I’ve lost to it. I pitched a mass planting of about 100 Blue Cadet once I found it in a few of them. Severe maybe but I haven’t had it come back so I’m happy. Planted annual flowers in that bed for three years and then filled it with Tickle Me Pink and they are looking great.

Voles and snails, n2? Lovely. Deer, rabbits and turkeys are my pests so I moved all my hostas into the fenced in backyard and my pooch keeps them away.

Took a quick walk this morning in the front yard. Wu La La went to La la land, crown rot . I planted it where a big spruce died the week we moved in.

I am blaming the Landscape crew who trimmed it. It didn't need it, I figured someone wanted to look busy. I don't think they clean their tools between diseased plants and healthy ones. Sweetie and I had a talk about virus in the plant world last night.

The community has lost most of the scotch pines in the last few years. And I hear Ash borers are going rampant but I have no ash or scotch pines.

I need to move some daylilies and noid hosta the Mom in law planted. That and dig up massive amounts of surprise lilies or naked ladies. They are just not in the right place!

I really want to look at nurseries and garden centers!!! I am making lists and researching plants but it doesn't satisfy my soul!!!

I know... first world problems... I had such plans this year. But I am the phone with others who have bigger problems than me. sigh....
