Help finding Garden Centers

I am new to Ocean Isle Beach, NC from New England and I am having a hard time finding garden centers and nurseries that have more than just typical evergreen shrubs that builders use, endless crepe myrtles and loropetalums, and virtually no selection of perennials or ornamental grasses. So far I have explored about an hour radius of Ocean Isle Beach in both North and South Carolina. I am willing to travel further and explore both of these beautiful states as well. Unfortunately, the best selections have been at Lowes and Home Depot. I would prefer not to be supporting the big box stores. Any leads for me? Thanks so much!

If you're willing to take a road trip, Big Bloomers in Sanford NC is well worth the drive.

If you are truly up for a drive then the NC farmers market in Raleigh has tons of options from a variety of growers.

You can go to Plant Delights in Raleigh, but only 8 weekends a year. Check their website for a calendar of when they are open to the public.

Garden Treasures in Wendell has lots of hard to find woody shrubs you won't find anywhere else. Also perenials and tropicals. Just set up an appointment through their website.
