You could do quite a bit w new counter , backsplash , and pendant light change. That would be my first attempt to change or invigorate as opposed to painting cabs.

I see we may even have same granite. So may be paint the kitchen and a new backsplash?

I would replace b/s, pendants and possibly different paint before painting cabinets.

Top and bottom white

I would go with lightest color from your countertop. White would fight with granite color.

Ivory/cream/warm off-white would go better.

The cabinets aren't cherry, they're stained a cherry/java color.

since you have a warm granite and creamy floors/backsplash, you'd have to pick a soft creamy color. As you can see, a bright white doesn't really work. (neither does your pantry door.)

If you paint cabs, try a creamy white, ditto pantry.

Please supply photos of the entire space, i.e. the living area the kitchen opens onto. Your cherry cabinets give a rich, deep look. White cabinets that are part of living rooms sometimes have a cheap look against upholstered and wood furnishings.

All the big paint manufacturers have online tools that let you upload a photo and try out paint colors. I usually use Benjamin Moore's (https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/color-overview/personal-color-viewer)

Consider undercabinet lighting, which adds a lovely glow to a kitchen that opens onto the dining and living areas. Larger, more "living room" style pendants as below would add more light and ambiance.

Also keep your island completely clear. Install paper towel holder inside cabinet. Clear off all clutter from kitchen counter so that everything looks as cozy as possible.
