Yes, I put a pot on it :-) In spring I bring most of my pots to sunny places and I thought I had planted Deep Pockets further away from this spot...

I had a busy week..2 small pots of alternanthera that were fine all winter didn't have enough water.. and now they'll be going in the compost bin 🙄..

In spring it is not easy to take care of all the plants. I had to repot or refill nearly every pot because winter has been so wet that the hosta were sunken into the soil. And with bringing out the cacti and succulents there was nearly no time left for anything else. So it's no wonder when collateral damage appears :-) But I hope it is time now to enjoy the May garden.

Is it bad that I chuckled at that? What were you thinking planting Hosta in the ground. Aren't you the Pot Queen?

Steve, I can understand that you chuckled. I laughed out loud when I saw those sprouts creeping out under the pot.In Germany there is a saying 'Schuster bleib bei deinen Leisten' which means in general I should not have planted them in the ground ;-)

Ken, the driveway hosta was first thing in my mind when I removed that pot :-)

Today I was instantly reminded me of Karin's forgotten hosta-under-pot. Last year I purchased Sum and Substance and August Moon. For the life of me I can't remember where I planted them! Today I was wandering around trying to remember. I turned over this old cast-iron planter that was upside down and found one of them! I'm pretty sure this is Sum and Substance, but I guess I'll know soon enough. It's been trying to grow under that pot. Ha!

Now I know why I want to stay away from potting hostas!!! :-)

So I'm not the only one :-) If I ever plant again I will make a ring of stones around the plant, maybe that helps.

Yes, nicholsworth. It is so hard to remember and I feel like it's getting worse all the time! I do stuff and I always think there is no way I will forget. Then I do.

djacob, nope this one as never potted. It's in-ground. But I had put a pot over it probably before the last big snow storm we had when it was just poking out. Then I completely forgot! Ugh. Oh well, I'm sure it will be fine.

Karin, that's a good idea. I am going to do that. Besides this one is planted in an area where the grass insists upon growing.
