Oh ok -- so you don't fertilize in ground roses monthly? Gotcha!

The instructions on most rose fertilizers I have seen recommend WAY to frequent applications of fertilizer! (they sell more that way). I use Osmocote 9 months, which is a timed release fertilizer. I use it once a year, supplemented with MAXSEA plant food, or another good plant food, every six months.

I use a granular rose fertilizer three times a year - the first days of spring, summer, and fall. I have a Double Delight and Katherine Loker, both about 6 feet tall and with plenty of flowers. (Orange County, Ca.)

What type of fertilizer did you use 30 days ago? Granulated scratch in time release?

You can add any kind of organic matter to your soil any time. Any thing that feeds the soil is good for your rose. So if you feel you want to do something I would go with the liquid kelp.

I think I used EB Stone Rose and Flower food. It's kind of like a powder. But I don't have any left.
