Really nice house. Lots of curb appeal as is.

Not a pro but I actually like your house as is, even with the narrow gray verticals; however, if the thin "stripes" bother you, you could paint the narrow siding wall on each side of the garage the same gray to have broader spans of color rather than just a narrow "stripe". For myself, I'd probably just paint the downspouts the same gray as is the corners and post beside them.

Because the garage door is the same color as the upstairs siding, leaving it light does give some balance to the color scheme -- and the original paint is less likely to peel and need to be redone as soon as it would if you paint over what you have.

The question you might want to ask yourself is whether that much lighter color (garage door) grabs too much attention from the front entry door. It certainly wouldn't if you add red to the front entrance as you mentioned.

Not a fan of painting beautiful wood doors ... but it is your door so it's your choice; however, you might consider keeping the door and sidelights both wood, as is, but paint your frame of your storm door a compatible dark burgundy red to get the red you want for your door and that will attention to the entrance.

You could also add a pair of colorful decorative items such as wind chimes and/or sun catchers and/or spinners and/or exterior art to the front porch overhang with red and/or some of your other favorite colors to draw the attention of visitors toward the porch/entry. Note: The larger longer metal pipes on the wind chimes usually have a deeper sound than the smaller metal pipes and you could choose a plain wind chime but add a red sun catcher above it.

Yes to deco's ideas. Then, definitely work on the landscaping, including adding a tree or two.

Consider clipping the left shrub so its left side is more straight and the right shrub so its right side is more straight.

When the lower center shrubs grow to be the same height as those beside them, keep them all cut the same height -- at or below windowsill height.

I think the biggest change will be painting all the gray white as others have said. Prune the bushes so that the tops are not as wide as the bottoms. Cut the forward one by the drive way back or remove it.

I would also replace the door and sidelight to a more modern one. This would be perfect.

More than a red door the lot needs some landscaping. Paint the door red as long as you paint the storm door red also.

wow!!

Your front porch posts are invisible. I'd match them to front door or white. The dimension they are adding is lost

www.romabio.com has mortar paint/stain to change your stone to more of a gray as celery showed.

BeverlyFLADeziner has the right idea -- the dark gray down the sides of the garage is a vast improvement as is her landscaping vision -- well worthy of serious consideration. Her visual helps a lot. Whatever you decide, please post after pics.
