The larger window on the right works well aesthetically, and I like your brick. A new front door is a must.

I’m kinda relieved about the shutter issue. I kept trying to think how to make them look right and I’m glad it’s ‘okay’ to just not have any.

I wanted to redo the porch and maybe change the walk way to the clean square concrete pavers that look really modern. And add wider cedar columns? Or something other than cedar columns?

I think maybe since my house is a ranch but not at all mid century modern (I’ve been trying to research to understand the history of the style) that maybe I shouldn’t try to make it look so MCM but rather update the exterior in a way that just flows with the ranch style. Just hard to find examples of good looking ranch homes, it seems. I’m definitely out of my depth.

@Celery. Visualization, Rendering images's rendering shows how the replacement of just one window (plus painting other elements) makes a huge difference. I'd do it in a heartbeat.

IMO this is a house that easily could be MCM for the landscaping, the front door and the black windows. This is my favorite MCM landscaping and looks pretty easty to look after I am slowly chnging mine to be close.

@Kris, what did you end up doing with the front of your mid-century ranch?
