There is no way to clean the air in the house any better than what is available. Covid is no different it travels form human to human not floating around in the air. Yes there are air purifiers that can catch some pollen but IMO those are best as stand alone pieces with filters.By the time viral air droplets would reach any type of air cleaner they would have dropped to the ground.I hesitate to get all bent out of shape about viruses we as a society have anti bacteriaed ourselves into a mess lets not do the same with this . IMO these sealed up houses with no fresh air allowed are just huge breeding grounds for all kinds of nasty stuff.

Thanks for your thoughts. It just dawned on me that I should look in to this because our dentist is having some kind of hepa cleaner system installed in his offices right now. I will look in to the UV idea As well.

From what I have recently read (of course I am no expert just a citizen trying to stay informed) about Covid those particles and droplets can stay in the air for a while. Viral researchers estimate that Only 5-10 % of the corona contagion is passed from touching surfaces—- most of the viral contagion is hanging around in the air—Especially in one’s own home coming from those passing through or living there.

What you read is correct - the virus is spread by inhalation of microscopic aqueous droplets in the air, among other vectors. Unfortunately, there is no good data on the efficacy of air filters, HEPA or otherwise, in removing these airborne particles and preventing infection.

I would install a 4" media filter to keep most particles at bay but don't rely on this for any formal protection beyond traditional means (masks, handwashing, etc).

UV and electrostatic measure are probably not very effective and are expensive to buy and maintain.
