I am in the beginning stages of redoing my home. It is in the historic district and well, looks like it. :) Currently the kitchen is only the one side with a small island that the stove top is in. I do not know if I should look to make the kitchen an L shape, move the island back some (because I want to include the oven as it is currently in the wall and very small) to allow for enough space. OR move the kitchen to the other side. Cost around plumbing for sink, electrical and filling in the old spaces scare me. The other side looks bigger in the professional photo. If I moved it, I thought about doing the sink like this as it would be even more expensive to change the window.

Side note, I will be redoing two bathrooms and redoing all the baseboards, molding and doors throughout the house to make it less bulky and more contemporary.
