Raised bed soil too hot?

I built a 4x4x2H foot raised bed. Did some sheet layering for the first foot then filled with a raised bed soil mix. Transplanted some tomatoes and they’re wilting (peppers are not). Plenty of water. So I checked the soil temp and about 8 inches down it’s 120 degrees in the evening, even a couple hours after watering (I usually only water in morning). It was the same temp in late afternoon.

Is this heat from my my composting layers below the soil? If so, any idea how long it’ll take before I can plant in this bed? Anything I can do for cooling?
