all you really need to do is add some backsplash tile. maybe a rug for that floor.

The floor is brown, so no reason you couldn't paint the walls a warm color. The ivory tiles are beautiful, but there are probably many options.

Those marble tiles that Home Interiors posted are a nice choice. It's a Calacatta marble and warmer than a carrara. (a little more expensive, but you don't have the much to do)

you don't want to go too creamy (like your table) because against the white cabinets it will look dingy.

maybe pick a natural stone in a creamy tone that works w/everything around it.

too bad you can't redo the floors to the black/creamy white one. then I'd do a nice white subway tile and paint the walls a light gray (in the picture are those other distresses looking tiles. they do work w/your current flooring)

White or off white backsplash will work but will NOTt "warm" the kitchen.

If you used a 4" single row of rounded top tile matching your countertop and then put wood matching your table top over that, then that would warm the kitchen.

I like the kitchen . Hesitate to alter things . Work w what you have . Plant in earthy pot behind faucet/ some wicker baskets on counter . Utensil crock . Things to make lived in look will work to fuse w your existing table chair if that’s the issue. On table get modernistic placemats and / or runner and a modern glass bowl w fruit to rest in middle . Try floor mat or 2 in kitchen to coordinate w rug under table before ripping out floor . Floor looks good.

I’d consider painting it first to get the right color and then add a backsplash after living with it for a while. Have you gone to see the house in person? If you can visit, try opening the oven and the dishwasher at the same time, and practice filling the dishwasher from the sink. See if those work for how you do things too.

Isn’t that a glass backsplash? If there is no backsplash then you have tons of ways to create whatever aesthetic... you can move in and see w samples once your items get in the space. About that time for you..... some installers probably ready to work . I myself probably would not want anyone in for some time w this situation and backsplash can wait in fact nothing here is urgent. It’s a nice space not needing anything done... that is a plus factor in this covid world and might be a deciding force if I had to move, and find a place at all.

You have a lot of good ideas here! I would swap out the black hardware for brass or something else that is a warm metal. Paint and then consider a backsplash. I personally love the marble by HomeInteriors that has all those browns :^)

Lighting. It also looks as if it is a really cool spectrum. Perhaps a warmer light would help.

I might try and bring in a wood element of some kind of the panel of peninsula. Also baskets and things with texture will warm it up I thin it’s pretty also plants

Hi Michelle. All you have to do is soften the colors. You have shaker cabinets and traditional hardware. It’s not a modern space.

If you buy that kitchen, consider painting the walls a color that compliments you dining set. While marble backsplash tiles are pretty, you have a pretty assertive floor tile, and they won’t look great together. If it is in the budget to swap the vinyl you have there for a wood look vinyl, you could consider the marble options. Otherwise, go for a glazed ceramic tile.

The floor is pretty assertive! I was thinking about putting the floor that is through the rest of the house in there too. The only thing is it’s cherry wood and I struggle decorating with that.

Cherry floors can be assertive too, but having the same flooring throughout the space would be a really pretty move. It won’t be harder to work with than what you have in there now, I bet.

Cherry wood floors would not be my first choice...is the existing floor cork?

There’s plenty to work with there but I agree with others about taking your time. Everything will look different in the actual house than it does in a store or your current home. I made the mistake once of picking paint and a bunch of other stuff before moving it - big mistake. Much of it didn’t really work. Good luck 😊.

I think you need some more decorations to make it more awesome. It looks great, but I just see a white. It leads to excessive coloration and boring in the color scheme. Can add some items or choose a little color scheme for your room more showy

I made the same paint mistake...wanted everything painted before we moved in...and then hated it for two months before I could get living and family rooms redone. Expensive mistake!
