There are few lilies that look as good as Clown Parade in a clump. That is fabulous as is Wild One which probably made quite a splash with that clump! Pink Gingham always looks good. And look at VF blooming for you this first year!!

It’s great to see your daylilies in bloom at this time. It will be a long time till I see scapes here. Daytime Drama caught my eye today, Kay. I rarely see any doubles posted here, I like this one. I added some doubles to my gardens recently, adds some contrast.

Thank you, sherry. Daytime Drama is a very large bloom too. I have only a few doubles, but this one sometimes has white or very light ivory in the very center...it is actually a pretty one. Thank you for looking and for commenting. The plants are really blooming now that it is hotter. And, as you know, it is going to be very hot here for quite a while. And, Kate, as I told you, Clown Parade punches out those groups day after day and I can't resist posting them. It is not too close to the Japanese Magnolia but some of them are and that trees life get more in doubt every day

All are lovely, but I think Voila Francois is my favorite. Clown Parade does look good in a clump. It seems to be vigorous for you, but mine hasn't multiplied at all. It must not like the spot where I have it. Fear Not is such a pretty shade of red, and I always like Gillian - she survived here for many years in the shade. I finally got her out in the sun, and she multiplied so well last year. I'm looking forward to that clump blooming this season.

Hi Kay , noticed that you put a period inbetween each letter of the daylily named MICO. Wondering why you did that ? The daylily is registered as Mico with no periods. It looks very much like my plant Mico but I am wondering if this is another plant registered but with same name so in order to distinguish they registered with a period inbetween each letter ???????????

I always love Clown Parade. I am totally shocked that it does not multiply well for you. I have shared mine every year I have had it. Everyone who sees it wants a start of it. It still has managed to become a large clump. At least large considering how much it gets divided. I used to have Gillian, always liked that one, but it disappeared last spring. Showed up after winter but vanished before it bloomed. I guess it did not like the cool damp March we had. Viola Francois looks really pretty too. My husband put a cart on my fans of that one last year, only 1 fan survived. It is pretty small this year, I don't know if it will bloom for me this year or not. Beautiful blooms all.

Nice group Kay. Clown Parade, Pink Pink Gingham and Purple Honey Creeper caught my eye. Clown Parade does so good here but not sure if it will be be a multi bloomer again this year since the deer got it a few weeks ago. Time will tell.

Thank y'all for looking and commenting. Debra, Valentine Sweetheart has three scapes and the other one I won't name has increased a fan and has two scapes. The other seedling also has increased and has three scapes. Debra, Clown Parade is in full sun and has done extremely well from the first season on. I shared some of it twice last year, but it doesn't seem to notice. On the other hand, Stenciled Infusion does great there and has not increased at all. It wi probably move to another area to see if it likes it better.

My plants have stymied me this year Fighting, fire, Buffalo Kisses and Citrix are not blooming much at all; nor is Marseilles Watercolor. Gillian is going great guns, heavily scaped and budded, first time ever. Some always tall ones are short Some usually short ones are tall.

Viola Francois is new, thanks to Kate and doing fine. I have added several yellows since I realized I was quite short on yellow. North Carolina Sugar Daddy, Joan Senior, and Viola Fancois are my only whites, but Heaven; Edge is close. as everyone knows, I love red, but many more colors are needed.

I'm glad to hear you added yellows Kay. You know how I love my yellow. Last year I cut back even more on my daylilies, but succumbed over winter to ordering a few more yellows for this year. There's a lot of yellows out there, but not a lot of good yellows. I want the good ones...................I like your picture of Gillan. I've admired it before. Is the base color white or the soft lavender/pink it appears in your photo?...Voila Francois is always a pretty ruffled white. I like Pink Gingham too.................Maryl

Kay - I'm glad to read my intros have scapes and will bloom for you this year. Gypsy Cats is safely registered now, so you can speak its name here. LOL Only the seedling has scaped here. It will probably be another week before I get scapes on Dearest Valentine and Gypsy Cats.

I have Clown Parade planted in full sun. The daylily right next to (Carmen Renee, multiplies like crazy, but the one on the other side, like Clown Parade, has not increased either. It could be the grubs are getting to those two.

Wow, your season is really taking off, Kay. Mint Octopus and Fear Not are the ones that catch my eye. I'm not a big yellow fan, but I do like the lighter yellows with green a lot.

Brad, It is funny, but I have never been a yellow fan but am learning to like them so much more lately. They make a nice contrast with all the more intense colors, and while Mint Octopus was a bonus from my last order with Bill Maryott, and was not a planned purchase, I have really liked it from the beginning.
