I just put in new double hung vinyl windows and my portable ac window kit is not secure. I was told not to drill holes in the vinyl (warranty) and not to use masking tape (residue on vinyl hard to get off). So what do I do? I read somewhere that GOO GONE will take the residue off with some scrubbing but won't it stain the window frame or take the finish off the vinyl windows, especially if you have to scrub the reside off? I am at a loss how to secure the window insert in.
