If I were in your shoes, I would use impact glass. If the impact glass won't work for your bay window or due to other reasons, then consider using hurricane fabric. One of the best things about hurricane fabric is that it doesn't stay on the window all the time and you can take it off and put it away, unlike hurricane shutters. I've had the white hurricane shutters and the downside is the constant maintenance and they frankly look quite ugly next to the windows as they are a permanent fixture. So many people fail to maintain the white hurricane shutters that when a storm is coming there are issues with the latch closing and locking etc.

The size and style of your existing windows don't work with colonial shutters at all.

Even if you used the skinny plastic shutters (which I don't recommend) they would crowd your windows.
